Sharon Jean Vaughn

Sharon Jean Vaughn (Pollaski), Age 80. Born December 15, 1941 passed away August 24, 2022. Sharon was born in Grand Rapids, MI to Willard A. and Martha F. (Hughes)Pollaski . She was the youngest of four children. She was raised in Big Rapids, MI. Sharon graduated Big Rapids High School in 1959.

On September 2, 1961, she married her high school sweetheart Daniel Lee Vaughn Sr.

Sharon attended some college courses at Ferris State College in Big Rapids. She worked as an aide at the local hospital in the pediatric unit. Sharon and Dan moved to Flint, MI in 1965. They settled in Swartz Creek, MI from 1968-2000. Sharon and Dan moved to The Villages, Florida in 2000. Sharon had some temporary jobs (Book store clerk and department store debt collection officer).

Her primary joy was being a wife, mother, and homemaker. During Sharon’s time in Swartz Creek, she was very active in Girl Scouts as a Troop Leader. Sharon was also active in the Jaycees as an auxiliary Jaycette. She was a devout Episcopalian who was committed to her God and Church. She was Sacristan of the Altar Guild in both her Michigan and Florida churches. Some of Sharon’s interests in life were cooking, camping, traveling, and reading. She also crocheted afghan blankets and dabbled in counted cross-stitch at times.

Sharon is survived by her husband of 60+ years, Daniel Lee Vaughn Sr. Son: Daniel Lee Vaughn Jr. and wife Holly. Daughter: Audra Rifanburg (Vaughn) and husband Scott. Daughter: Janis Vieau (Vaughn) and partner Kimberly “Mik” McKenzie. Brother: Floyd Pollaski and wife Judy. Sister-in-law: Kathryn Hodgeman (Vaughn) and husband Russ. Grandchildren: Amber Thayer and significant other Shaun Hawkins. Sabrina Ramsay and husband Chris. Isaac Ward and wife Kristol. Daniel Lee Vaughn III “Trey” and wife Erin. Zachary Vaughn and wife Lexie. Jarod Vaughn and significant other McKaila Sauer. Michael Vieau. Mason Vieau. Maxxwell Vieau. Great Grandchildren: Logan, Layla, Laynie, Luna, Gaige, Avery and Elinore. Sharon leaves behind many other family members and friends to cherish her memory.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents Willard “Bill” and Martha Pollaski, brother: Dallas and sister-in-law Mary Pollaski, sister: Evelyn “Ferne” (Pollaski) and brother-in-law Floyd “Junior” Swineheart, Uncle Rex and Aunt Jewel Pollaski as well as her in-laws Daniel and Frances Vaughn (Pugh), sister-in-law: Elizabeth Cain (Vaughn).
