Nick Anthony Garcia, age 50, of White Lake, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. He was born on March 11, 1975, the son of Vicki Garcia, and of Larry Smith, whom Nick lovingly regarded as a father.
Nick will be remembered for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and the deep love he had for his family. He enjoyed motorcycles, four-wheeling, being outdoors, and spending time with his dog Hank. More than anything, Nick loved doing whatever his daughters enjoyed — swimming, sledding, skiing, bike riding, or any adventure they imagined. If it made them smile, he was all in.
Nick was a genuine friend, a loving son, and an unapologetic girl dad. Painting nails, dressing Barbie dolls, doing and re-doing hair, and sitting through endless fashion shows were the rhythm of his fatherhood. If you asked him — and it was clear to anyone who knew him — nothing meant more to him than hearing his daughters, Rachel and Victoria, call him “Dad.”
Although Nick faced hardship throughout his life, we choose to remember not the weight of those challenges, but the strength and grace with which he met them. He saw the good in others, felt deeply for people and animals alike, and carried a quiet compassion that made the world around him softer. His life encourages us to lead with understanding, to forgive freely, and to treat people with the gentleness he carried so naturally.
Nick was preceded in death by his mother, Vicki Garcia. Surviving are his daughters, Rachel Breen and Victoria Garcia; Larry Smith, whom Nick lovingly regarded as a father; and Bob Orosey, who became a father figure to Nick in his teenage years and remained a beloved part of the family ever since.
Nick may have left this life, but his compassion, humor, and love will live on in our hearts forever. We will carry his laughter, his kindness, and the way he loved with us always. His light continues to shine through Rachel and Victoria, through Bob, and through everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
Cremation will take place. The family will gather privately to remember Nick — a devoted dad, a gentle soul, and a man who always found peace with Rachel, Victoria, and his dog Hank by his side. Nick’s memory will also live on through the family he chose, especially Bob Orosey, whose presence shaped so much of his life.
