Moira Donovan

On Friday, August 14, 2026, Moira Donovan of Milford, Michigan, passed away peacefully at the age of 79. After nearly six years apart, she is once again in the arms of her beloved husband of more than 50 years, John “Kevin” Donovan.

Born in Romford, England, the daughter of Victor and Enid Odell, she and Kevin made their way to America together in 1969, arriving as a young couple with little more than each other and a great deal of determination. They started their family in Southfield, before building a home in Highland, and finally settling in Linden, Michigan, while also spending significant periods of time in Punta Gorda, Florida. Moira resided in Milford, Michigan since Kevin’s passing in 2020.

She is survived by her three loving children: Sean Donovan, Marie Kielian Kelly (John) and Glen Donovan (Kerry); her ten adoring grandchildren: Courtney, Timothy Austin, Megan, Morgan and Ryan, Taylor, Austin and Alexis, Reese and Andie; her two great-grandchildren, Monroe and Charlotte; her brother Glyn Odell, sisters-in-law Geraldine Bradfield (Graham) and Julie Irwin; her nieces Annette, Jennifer, Laura Jane, Natalie and Samantha; and her nephew Ashley.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kevin, and by her parents, Victor and Enid.

Moira was the heart of her family. As a homemaker, she made every house they lived in a place people wanted to come back to, and she carried that same warmth into her years as a grandmother, spending as much time with all her grandchildren as she possibly could. She loved to laugh, socialize and entertain, dance, sail and travel everywhere with Kevin. She was also an accomplished florist, seamstress, knitter and calligrapher. She kept her English wit and charm to the very end.

Those who knew Moira will remember her generosity, her quiet strength, and the extraordinary love story she shared with Kevin — a love truly reminiscent of fairy tales from yesteryear.

The family will be planning a private memorial service to be held later.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made in Moira’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
