Michael worked as a Fireman/Public Safety Officer for the city of Highland Park, he retired after 25 years. Mike spent his retirement golfing and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; David and Laura Derrick, his siblings; Sandy Bogusz, Greg Bogusz, & Martin Bogus. His wife; Linda Darlene (Coke) Derrick. He is survived by his brother Patrick Derrick, his children, Laura Derrick, Michael Derrick, Tracie Hunter, Tammie Brasgalla, & Brandy Brasgalla. His Grandchildren Wyatt Banyai, Mazie Banyai, Willem Derrick, Courtney Willibey, Stephanie Caruso, James Hunter, Nicholas Buell, Nathan Buell, Balynda Hunter, & Jacob Hunter, and 12 great-grandchildren.
