Larry Brinning, age 84, of Clinton Township, Michigan, passed away on November 3, 2026.
Larry was a proud United States Marine and Vietnam veteran who served his country with honor. He spent most of his life in Clinton Township, where he built a life centered around the people he loved most: his family.
Above all, Larry loved the Lord and was a born-again Christian. His faith was an important part of his life, and his family finds comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the arms of his Savior. His faith and the love he shared with those around him will remain part of the legacy he leaves behind.
Larry was a hardworking man who believed in taking care of his family. He was a devoted, loving, and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Sandy, who preceded him in death five years ago. He was also preceded in death by his son, Tim.
Larry leaves behind his loving daughters, Lisa and Kaylyn, and his son-in-law, Ed. He was a father who was always there, never missing an opportunity to show up for his family. He worked hard, loved deeply, and made sure the people he loved knew they could always count on him.
His greatest joy was making memories with his children and grandchildren. He loved fishing, a passion he passed down to his grandsons, who continue to carry on his love of being out on the water. He enjoyed family vacations, trips up north, and especially visits to Disney. Disney held a special place in his heart, and his favorite character was Goofy.
Larry had the best laugh and the warmest smile. He loved telling jokes, making people laugh, and bringing happiness into every gathering. His sense of humor, loving heart, and unforgettable smile made him someone who will never be forgotten.
He leaves behind his five grandchildren, Mary, Paige, Haley, Lucas, and Landen, and his great-granddaughter, Skylar, with another great-grandchild expected in January.
Larry’s greatest legacy will never be measured by the years he lived, but by the love he gave and the lives he touched. To his daughters and grandchildren, he was so much more than a father and grandfather. He was their protector, their biggest supporter, their constant, and someone they could always count on. He showed his love by being there, working hard, making memories, sharing laughter, and putting his family first.
There will be empty chairs at family gatherings, fishing trips that won’t be quite the same, and countless moments when his family will wish they could hear his laugh or see his smile just one more time. They will miss his jokes, his stories, his hugs, and simply having him there.
Although his family wishes they had more time, they find comfort knowing that the love he gave them will never leave. His grandsons will carry on his love of fishing, his grandchildren will carry his memories with them, and his great-grandchildren will grow up hearing stories about the wonderful man who came before them.
Dad, Grandpa, we hope you knew just how much you were loved. Thank you for always being there, for taking care of us, for making us laugh, and for giving us a lifetime of memories. You will forever be a part of everything we do.
Until we meet again in Heaven.
Semper Fi, Larry. You will forever be loved, missed, and remembered. ❤️
