Larae Alda Trumbull

Larae A. Trumbull, of Traverse City, MI, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side on Sunday, Oct. 4th, 2026, at the age of 90. Larae was born in Detroit, MI to Ray and Awilda Meeuwenberg and graduated from Commerce High School in Detroit. Larae married the love of her life, Keith Trumbull, in 1956 and enjoyed many years of happiness until his passing in 1999.

Larae was outgoing, friendly, and inviting to everyone in her life. Her ever-present smile and sense of humor were her trademarks. Larae's career included childcare, bookkeeping, customer service, and laboratory work but her true passion was her family. Larae was involved in the Red Hat Society and TOPS during her retirement in Leesburg, FL. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, golf, shuffleboard, and bingo with her friends.

Larae is survived by her children, Tex (Nancy) Trumbull, Eleanor Daiva (Jess) Reaser, David (Lisa) Trumbull, Alice (Scott) Hilner, her 21 grandchildren and growing number of great grandchildren. Larae was preceded in death by her husband Keith, her daughter Laura Masell, her parents, and her brother Wally Meeuwenberg. She will be laid to rest with her husband at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida
