Kathleen Jan Myers

Kathleen Jan Myers passed away on June 1, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on April 3, 1946 in Plainwell, MI to James and Betty (Jones) Mahieu. Kathy graduated in 1964 from Delton High School. On June 21 she married the love of her life, Leslie Myers and they shared nearly 44 years of wedded bliss. Les and Kathy wintered in Florida for several years. Kathy always treasured her many dear friends from Dade City. Also, while in Florida, Les and Kathy had fun going on trips and spending time with Les’ brother George and dear friend Jean. She enjoyed summers camping at the Otsego Moose Lodge where she had once held the position Senior Regent. Kathy also enjoyed fishing with Les at the lakes near their summer home Up North. They moved back to the area four years ago settling in Martin, MI. Kathy cherished her sweet mother Betty, her sister “Sissy”, her family, her many friends, dancing, playing cards, being a Red Hat Lady and her flowers. Kathy attended Trowbridge Community Church where she loved her Ladies Bible Study Group. But, most of all Kathy loved Les, who so tenderly cared for her during her illness and final days.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, James Mahieu. Surviving is her husband Les, her son Jim (Tanya) Householder of Oklahoma, Stepsons Len (Cheryl) of Martin and Lyle (Theresa) Myers of Savannah, GA; 15 Grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 2 on the way; Her mother, Betty Mahieu of Otsego; brother David (Darlene) Mahieu of Kalamazoo; sister Sharalyn Downing of Otsego; sister-in-laws, Jan Myers-Carpenter of Otsego, Mariam Glass of Holland, and Lucille Harrington of Kalamazoo along with many nieces, nephews.

The family would like to express their thanks to Centrica Care Navigators’ Nurse Alyssa and Aide Angela who took excellent care of Kathy and Aunt Jan, who went above and beyond with her loving care for Kathy.

Friends may visit with Kathy’s family at 10 A.M., Wednesday, June 12, 2024 with Memorial Service at 11:00 and a lunch following at the Trowbridge Community Church, 355 26th St., Otsego. Pastor David Youngs and Pastor Mykl Hall officiating. There will be a luncheon at the church following the service. Contributions may be made in memory of Kathy to either Centrica Care Navigators, Trowbridge Community Church or Mooseheart (An organization through the Loyal Order of Moose to help children whose families are unable to take care of them.)
