John Robert Lane

John Robert Lane, Northville, passed away on 04/06/2026 at Henry Ford Providence Hospital Novi, MI. The son of Richard Lee Ekiss and Pauline Sawyer. John was born on 02/12/1942 in Mt. Clemens MI. After graduating from Ferris State College, John worked at Honeywell in Southfield as a Computer Programer and Manager. He was there 40 years. John later worked as a contractor with Blue Cross & Blue Shield, and then retired from Compuware in 2008. He enjoyed spending time at work and gained long lasting friendships along the way. John was a member of the Flying Pilgrims of Plymouth, MI. for over 50 years. He was an active member and was also instrumental in obtaining the location of their current flying field for all members to enjoy the hobby that he was so passionate about. After retirement he was able to enjoy much of his time with his many friends and flying enthusiast. John enjoyed traveling across the country attending fly- ins and air shows with his closest friends. John really enjoyed life and was happiest when he spent time with his family. He was preceded in death by both his parents. Surviving is his wife Lynne Carol Lane, daughter Tracy Lane-Sumner, Michael Sumner, and granddaughter Michaela Sumner.
