Born on August 12, 1940, in Detroit, MI. and after his upbringing and education, Gary dedicated most of his professional life to the family business, Satellite Engineering & Manufacturing. Gary married Sue and together raised three boys in Auburn Hills throughout their 28 year marriage. While living in Southfield, Gary met Irene and eventually celebrated a marriage of 19 years extending his family with three additional sons. Together they fulfilled his long desire to move and retire to Florida in 2002. The friendships made and cherished in New Port Richey offered a wealth of generosity and love among others. Gary took great pride in his home along with the many travels he shared with Irene and others around the world. Gary had a calming presence that made others feel at ease and always welcomed. Ultimately due to health concerns, Gary moved back to Michigan in his final months where he was surrounded by the warmth of family and others.
Gary is survived by his three sons: Mark (Dawn), Tim (Stacy), and David (Valerie) Simancek, three step-sons: Bill (Marybeth), Leo, and Lyle (Darlene) Chasse; 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 siblings: Bob Simancek (Diane) and Jay Simancek (Marianne). He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, his former wife Sue, and cherished friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond and Arlene Simancek, sister Kay Simancek, and his wife, Irene.
Being deeply missed, we will be celebrating his life on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 1-4pm at Parker’s Hilltop Brewery in Clarkston, Michigan 6110 Dixie Hwy, Village of Clarkston, MI 48346.
