

Gary Mac Price, 86, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, in Howell, Michigan. Gary was born to Agnes and Marvin Price on December 27, 1938, in Pontiac, Michigan. Gary grew up in Berkley, Michigan, where he graduated from high school and then went on to complete his bachelor’s degree in Ann Arbor, at the University of Michigan, where he was honored to be an Evan’s Scholar.
Gary married his bride, Sue Carol Price, on June 10, 1961, and they went on to have three children: Todd Price, Kurt (Lisa) Price and Stacey (Ryan) O’Keefe. Gary later became Grandfather to Andrew (DeAnna) Price, Kori (Pete) Van Geison, Quinne (Zach) Wilkinson, Flynn (Kassidy) O’Keefe, Colin O’Keefe, and great-grandfather to Jackson O’Keefe.
Gary spent the majority of his career working in sales for Burroughs Corporation, and then he went on to become a real estate broker, builder and appraiser. Gary and Sue retired to Punta Gorda, Florida, where they enjoyed 14 years at Maple Leaf Estates, a place they loved and where they made many wonderful friends before returning home to Howell, Michigan, in 2022, to be near their family.
Gary enjoyed playing football and basketball in his youth, and was an avid golfer and fisherman. In his retirement years, he became an excellent bocce ball player. The Price family shares many wonderful memories of vacationing at Houghton Lake and Bob’s Lake in Ontario, Canada, where they spent many summers fishing and enjoying water sports together with friends and family. Gary was a maize and blue fan, through and through. He loved watching Wolverine football with family and friends, as well as the Detroit Tigers. Gary was a long time member of the Elks Club and the First United Methodist Church, both in Howell.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and Marvin Price, sister Sharon (Phil) Workman, brother Stuart (JoAnn) Price, brother-in-law Don Green, and brother-in-law Jim Watson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Price, children Todd Price, Kurt (Lisa) Price, Stacey (Ryan) O’Keefe, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, sister Marilyn Green, brother Kevin (Ellen) Price, sister-in-law Wanda Watson, as well as many nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by his family.
