Gary was a kind, generous, and gentle giant. He was a loving partner, son, brother, uncle, stepfather, grandpa, and great grandpa. He loved his family and his cats unconditionally. He appreciated the arts and was passionate about music, writing, reading and Michigan State sports.
Gary is preceded in death by his father, Richard Keith Melvin and by his mother, Bernice Melvin. Gary is survived by his partner of over 30 years, Karen Vozzella. His brother and sister-in-law, Don and Diane Melvin, sister and brother-in-law Jan and John Holmes, nephews Sean, Connor and Corey. Gary was also a stepfather figure to Karen’s children Michael, Melissa (d) and Matthew and a grandfather to Terry, Sunny and Isabelle. He was a great grandfather to Theokoles and Althea.
Gary had many friends and all of us will dearly miss him.
