Gary Michael Lohmeier

Gary spent 57 years wedded to his beloved wife, Carol. They lived in Ferndale during their early years together, while spending most of their retirement summers in Mid-Michigan and retirement winters in Florida. No matter where he was, he could always be found enjoying his favorite game, golf. Some of his happiest moments were also spent fishing and hunting.

Gary graduated from St. Rita High School of Detroit in 1961. After serving in the Army, he spent nearly thirty years working for the Ferndale Fire Department. Ultimately, he reached the position of Chief and was highly regarded.

He is preceded in death by his father, Walter; his mother, Edress; his brother, Philip; and his sister, Donna. He was born on August 19, 1943, in Detroit. He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol, and three sons, Roger, Steven, and Jeffrey (Cristy). He is also survived by his dearest grandchildren, Ella and Max, and his siblings, Judith, Daniel, and Dale.

Visitation for Gary will start at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 1, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 9086 Hutchins Road, White Lake, Michigan 48386 followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will be provided from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Uptown Grille, 3100 E. West Maple Rd., Commerce Township, MI 48390.
