He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Doris Russell, and Brother Richard Russell.
He is survived by his wife Ella Russell, sister Deb Russell and his children Douglas (Allen) Russell, John Kieffer, Tom Kieffer, and Chris Kieffer. Douglas was an outstanding grandfather to seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
He spent his life working hard but always took breaks to enjoy the day to stop and chat with his neighbors. A quiet and reserved man of few words, if he had something to say, you’d better listen. He was known in the community as the co-owner of A.N. Russell and Sons gas stations, as well as the Westside Store.
Doug loved skiing in the Colorado Rocky Mountains and traveling across the US to race Go-Karts. He was happiest on the porch of his Lake City home with his loving wife of 47 years, Ella Russell.
The family will be honoring Doug’s life with a private celebration.
