

David Robert Cheshire, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025. He was born in Windsor, Ontario, the son of David and Nora (Inman) Cheshire. His father volunteered for America’s Army and was sent to Normandy, France on D-Day, obtaining his American citizenship after WWII. David chose to be an American. His older sister Joyce chose to remain a Canadian. David graduated from Redford High School. He studied Aeronautical Engineering at Northrop Institute of Technology in Inglewood, California. He obtained an Associate Degree in Arts from Oakland Community College and a Bachelor Degree in Business from Walsh College. He was a licensed Professional Engineer with the State of Michigan and had his own engineering corporation. David and his wife, Brenda built a second home on Old Mission Peninsula and spent 30 years enjoying Traverse City area with their family. David loved flying, had his private pilot’s license and was a member of AOPA. He celebrated his 80th birthday going on a flight with a neighbor on his float plane.
David was beloved husband of Brenda Lee for 66 years, cherished father of David (Patricia) and Kenneth (Donna), loving grandfather to Michael, Krysia (Dan), Sierra (Dallas) and Courtney (Noah), proud great-grandfather of Arya, Peyton, Maysie and Maverick. He was predeceased by parents David and Nora Cheshire and sister Mary Joyce Marchand.
A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, June 22, 2025.
Interment at Riverside Cemetary, Plymouth, Michigan. If desired, donations to National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
