

Robert Schirone of Ocala, Florida and formerly of Centerport NY, passed away on Thursday July 10, 2025 at the age of 86 peacefully at his home in Ocala, FL. He was born on October 4, 1938 in Yonkers, NY and grew up in the Bronx NY.
Robert graduated from NYU in NY with a PHD. He worked as a Researcher, Scientist, Marine Biologist teaching and mentoring throughout his life and career.
He was actively involved in Photography, Scuba Diving, Sled Dog Racing, Gardening, going to the Gym and keeping Physically Fit, Cooking, Traveling, Sky Diving, Sail Boating, and in recent years found deep Spirituality and connecting with all that is. A man of deep respect of all of nature and life the Devine and Cosmos. A Reiki level 2 Practitioner, and a Shaman Curandera through the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition and the Heart of the Healer.
Robert was preceded in death by their Father Charles Schirone, his mother Ava Popeleo Schirone, and his step mother, Angela Schirone.
He is survived by his Loving and Dedicated Wife and Partner of 26 years Debe Guidice Schirone, Stepchildren Corine Kearns, Stacey Kearns, and Jason Kearns, 4 step grandchildren Josh, Maddie, Jake, and Malina, and his only son Robert Schirone Jr.
Rob has been called by friends many different nick names, The Most Interesting Man in the World, Hulk Hogan, Jack LaLane, Caveman. He always had a story to tell and always had a lesson to share.
The family would like to thank Bobbi Ann Kelly for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in their final days and the support she gave to his wife Debe. To our family members who called, came, and supported us during this trying time. In particular Debe’s daughter Stacey Kearns for her continued love and support. And to Debe’s niece Diedra Paquette, and Debe’s grandson Josh Soto for making the journey down from the North East to share in this time of grief. Also to our many Spiritual family members, Lisa, David, Stacey, Amanda Jodi & Mark, Jennifer& Will, Alicia and Pastor Lambert, Chuck & Joann Wirtz for coming down from Ohio for his final hours, and Joe. To our dear friends Mona and Kelly for their friendship and who continued / continue to mentor in the Pachakuti Tradition. To Dr. Charles Overturf for his amazing compassion and understanding. And to Gentiva Hospice for their compassion and care in his final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of life at The Wren Haven Spiritual Center for a later date to be determined. An announcement will be made.
