
He attended schools in Davenport, Iowa until 1978 when the family moved to Sao Paulo, Brazil on assignment from his dad’s company. Upon his return in 1980 he completed his education in local schools in Pekin, Illinois and Illinois Central College in Peoria, Illinois, he then enlisted in the US Navy in 1988 and served for nearly five years.
Jack loved sports from an early age. He was a left-handed pitcher in the Davenport Little League and played on the golf team at Pekin Community High School. Jack also enjoyed playing soccer at Escola Graduada and his neighborhood Sao Paulo. He was a devoted professional football fan who watched games nearly every Saturday and Sunday. He began playing guitar at very early age and continued for most of his life. He was very musically talented and played in a variety of bands.
After the service, Jack’s career centered on Retail Sales where he worked as a Sales Rep and Manager. He thoroughly enjoyed spending his time with the wide variety of people he encountered and he established long lasting relationships with both regular customers and co-workers.
Jack is survived by his parents, his brother, Richard A Herron, his special friend, Nestor and Victoria Alvarez-Ramos and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He will be affectionately remembered as a genuinely fine man and devoted son.
