I just became aware of Dr. Kennar’s passing,  my prayer for all the family.  I was a patient of Doctor Kennar  from 1994 till her retirement,  she was the most caring  Doctor I had ever known, was so sad when she did  close her practice,  she will truly be missed.

My wonderful mom at Scottsdale 1998...always so supportive of everything I did.  She gave up every weekend and vacation for riding lessons and horse shows for me.  The most selfless woman there was.  Love you mom (the bestest)! <3

We have truly lost an angel, Jean dedicated her life to helping and saving people's lives.  Her true compassion for others was so evident in the care she gave. 
Her greatest and most proud accomplishment was her amazing daughter Whitney who she loved with every ounce of her being. 
When Whitney would come to our place to treat an emergency, I would give her a hug and promptly ask "is Mom with you?"   If she was I instantly jumped in the drivers seat, gave Jean a hug, pat Alvin on the head and proceed to have the best and funniest conversations.  I so cherished those times. 
We talked on the phone many times but the thing I miss the most is when my phone would ding and there was a Facebook message from her with the cutest cartoons.  They were always very special to me. 
You are so missed but please know you raised a strong daughter who will continue to make you proud and we will always be here for her.

Dr. Kennar was a special lady and doctor. I am her patient and she didn’t treat one part of you she treated all of you. She looked at everything! I asked her one time if she could be my primary care doctor and she giggled and said I am here for you anytime you have questions. Boy I am going to miss her so much.  She treated her patients like family and that is rare! God bless your soul and one day we will all meet in Heaven to be reunited.   This stinks and you will be missed terribly!

Jean was my very best friend in High School and beyond. She lived just a few blocks from my parent's house so we spent a lot of time together at each othet's homes. She was both brilliant and humble. She knew from a young age that her calling was to become a surgeon and she challenged herself by taking the most difficult classes and worked hard. And what a talented seamstress! Employed by Seattle's Bon Marche in the fabric dept.  She even sewed clothing for the Bon's fashion shows. We had a lot of fun together. She loved her daughter dearly.  I know that Jean now has a special place in Heaven.

You will surely be missed dearest Jeannie!

Dr. Kennar was a very kind woman. I had the pleasure of working for her for a short time and getting to know her in a more personal way, although I had been hearing about what a wonderful physician she was for years. One of my dear friends was one of Dr. Kennar's patients, and she held her in the highest esteem. Dr. Kennar's daughter is also a very kind, brilliant, and loving human being—very much in the model of her beautiful mother. My deepest sympathies to her family during this heartbreaking time.

Dr. Kennar was a special woman.  We are only on this earth for a short time and boy did she make it a much better place to live.  Dr. Kennar left her mark by touching so many lives and helping people live longer providing them more time with loved ones.  I was never a dog lover, but she talked me into getting a puppy for my two daughters.  Today, nobody comes between our puppy and I (the non dog lover).  Dr. Kennar loved you Whitney so much- she talked about you all the time and you made her so proud.  I know you will continue to make mom proud.  Heaven provides us eternal life reuniting with those who were called home sooner than we had hoped.  I know your mom (my favorite doctor) is in paradise with our creator.  We love you Dr. Kennar and we thank you for the positive impact you have had on all of our lives.

I wasn’t lucky enough to have ever met Jean in person, but I can imagine that by knowing Whitney you knew Jean. It goes without saying that the two were the best of friends, each other’s support system, and had a bond that was indescribable. My interactions with Jean were solely over the phone, but I will never forget how she would chime in on my talks with Whitney about our president Donald Trump and my sweet dog Tortuga. She would have me laughing over the phone as Whitney would relay the messages coming from her mom in the other room! Even through the phone, I knew Jeanne was a woman that cared deeply about animals, and  was a true American patriot. There is something to be said about being around someone who has such genuine care and passion for things in life, it becomes contagious. I can imagine that’s how it would feel when you would be around Jean, I felt it through the phone. 


To my sweet friend Whitney, my heart is with you, knowing that your world has forever changed. 

To Jean may you rest in peace and watch over your girl from the heavens above. Please keep her safe and always be a light for her and her darkest times. 

If only we could all be as lucky to have had a mother and best friend like Jean Kennar.

I went to college with Whitney and clearly remember the deep, supportive, loving relationship between Jean and Whitney.  They weren’t just mother and daughter, they were best friends, soulmates. Jean set an amazing example for Whitney and other women of what it means to be a strong, successful, determined, intelligent woman. She leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion for family, friends, clients, and animals. The world is a better place because she was in it.

This picture was taken at De Marco's restaurant in Sarasota during one of my summers home from vet school.  We were there with friends Rhett and Carole...so glad they took this picture - they always had their camera with them.

My mom never missed a milestone.  Yet another favorite photo - they are all my favorites...my white coat ceremony.

This is one of my favorite pictures of my mom and me, though I love them all.  Most of the pictures I have are the two of us as we were basically joined at the hip.  She was my best friend on this earth and now she is my guardian angel.  I love you mom and I can't wait to see you again.

Will be missed. Gone too soon. I will remember our conversations.
