Dorene Mallard

Dorene worked as a systems engineer at IBM from 1972 until her retirement. Upon retirement, she was involved in many social activities; including card games (especially duplicate bridge), mahjong, bingo, trivia, and travel. She founded a volunteer group called the Fireman’s Appreciation Brigade which supported her community’s local fire station with once-a-week goodies, meals, etc.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Freeman in 2018 and her father Vernon Sirmans in 1974.

Dorene is survived by her husband, Daniel Mallard; her sons Kenneth Daniel Mallard and Blake Andrew Mallard; her daughter in law Kiley Mallard; and her grandchildren Evelyn Grace Mallard, Darcy Elizabeth Mallard, and Lucas Daniel Mallard. She is also survived by her sister, Connie Jones.

The family would like to thank Moffitt Cancer Center and St. Joseph Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Dorene in her treatment and final days.

Family will hold a Celebration of Life on August 15th, 2026.
