

Daniel J. “Booner” Winiarski, age 60, died unexpectedly at his home in Riverview, Florida on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
He was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on June 24, 1965 to John E. Winiarski and Dorothy A.(Podbielski) Winiarski. He graduated from Holy Rosary grade school, Academy high school and Clarion State university.
Shortly following college he moved to Tampa, Florida and began his career in the newspaper business, eventually retiring from the Tampa Bay Times.
An avid lifelong sports fan of the Miami Dolphins and all professional Tampa Bay teams, he was a season ticket holder for 25 years at Raymond James Stadium. Dan also loved music and was a frequent concert attendee. He was a talented cook, an avid reader and loved spending time with his dogs in their beautiful backyard by the pool.
More than anything he loved his fiancée Christiane Cimon, who was his companion for over 32 years. They both loved their numerous dogs who they affectionately called “the girls.” He was a loving and caring son; a kind, thoughtful and supportive brother, a valued and loyal friend; and a fun and engaging uncle to his nieces and nephews who adored him.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents John and Dorothy Winiarski; both sets of grandparents and his beloved dogs Shelby, Wibbie, Cleo and Amber.
He is survived by the love of his life Christiane and their dogs Thora, Baylee and Skylar; his sister Janice Tobin and her husband Tom and their children Sandy, Julie (Bartoo) and Chris all of Erie, PA;
his brothers Tim Winiarski of Holiday, FL and his son Johnny; Ron Winiarski of Palm Bay, FL and his children Brian and Kimberly; Gary Winiarski of Clearwater, FL and Christiane’s many family members in Quebec, Canada.
Arrangements are being handled by The National Cremation and Burial Society in Ruskin, FL and a private memorial service will be held locally in Riverview.
Memorial donations may be made in his name to The Humane Society of Tampa Bay
