Carl James Parnell

Carl graduated from Haines City High School in 1964. He worked as a Trouble Man for Duke Energy and served in the National Guard from 1964 to 1970 and again from 1974 to 1975.

Carl was actively involved in Haines City Church of God, where he served as an Elder and Sunday School Superintendent. He was a current member of Boyette Springs Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Wesley Parnell, and his mother, Marie Jurka Parnell.

Carl is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ballance Parnell; son, Michael Parnell and his wife, Amber Parnell; son, Shannon Parnell and his wife, Roxanne Parnell; grandson, Nicholas Parnell; granddaughter, Julia Parnell Knippers and her husband, Joshua Knippers; great granddaughters, Riley Marie Knippers and Scottie Anne Knippers; brother, Robert Parnell; and nephew, Douglas Parnell.

The family would like to thank Life Path Hospice of Sun City Center, Cypress Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care, and Awaken Assisted Living for the care and compassion they showed Carl and his family during his final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service at Boyette Springs Church of God, 12114 Boyette Road, Riverview, Florida 33569, on Saturday, October 17, at 11 am. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:30 am.
