The world lost a beautiful soul on July 9, 2025, as Elizabeth M. Hughes, of Port Charlotte, Florida, originally from Westminster, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at the age of 73 after a brief illness. Liz was cherished for her kindness, wisdom, and bubbly personality, as well as the warmth and love she poured into every dish she cooked and shared with many. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family. Liz is survived by her beloved husband of 48 years, Michael K. Hughes; her daughters, Tricia Park and Deven Amaral, and son-in-law William Amaral. Affectionately known as “Mamma,” she was a proud and loving grandmother to Tyler Park, Sierra Hughes, Eli Rivera-Hughes, Rodney Morley Jr., William Marini-Amaral, and Daniel Marini-Amaral. Liz will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A private family service will be held at a later date.
