Lillian Ruth Hunsaker (Lil) was born in Auburn, Nebraska on August 26, 1941. She passed away on September 5, 2024 in Tubac, Arizona. Her parents were Reinhart and Margaret Riensche. Lillian married David Hunsaker on August 15,1969, in Loveland, Colorado.
Lil was a teacher and a community college administrator. Most of her career was in Denver, Colorado. Lil and her husband, David, retired to Tubac, Arizona in 1998. In retirement, Lil was active in community and county government. She served on many boards throughout the years. Lil was instrumental in bringing Community College to Santa Cruz County. She was active politically, making phone calls and putting up signs promoting candidates that she supported.
Lil was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mary Ann Riensche and Grace Halmi, brother-in-laws, Colo Halmi, Ed Butler, and Daniel Berke. She is survived by her husband, David, sister, Dorothea Berke, sister-in-law, Beverly Butler, and many nieces and nephews.
No services have been scheduled at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to Santa Cruz County Humane Society.
