Judith “Margo” Ann Shoemaker passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the age of 92. She was born on June 21, 1933, in Eureka, KS and grew up in Wichita, where she began studying classical piano at a young age and developed a lifelong passion for music. Margo went on to win numerous awards and talent competitions over her remarkable life.
For more than three decades, Margo worked as an Administrative Assistant in the aerospace industry, including supporting the Columbia Space Shuttle program. She was also a professional pianist, performing in Los Angeles, Savannah, and Melbourne, where her joy for music left an indelible impression on all who heard her play.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of the Good Shepherd in Melbourne and the Central Brevard Newcomers’ Club. While in Los Angeles, she served as President of the local Republican Women’s Club. Margo was an avid golfer and was passionate about musical theater. Always dressed to the nines, she threw unforgettable dinner parties and brought wit and charm to every gathering.
Inspired by Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, Margo followed her heart to Savannah, a city as vibrant and soulful as she was. There, she met and married the love of her life, Bill, and for many years graced the DeSoto Hilton with her music. She later moved to Melbourne, FL to be closer to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Carlin; her son, Albert Cox III; and her parents, Charles and Helen Shoemaker.
She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Parker (Lee); grandchildren John Parker (Judi), Scott Parker, Noah Rothschild (Elizabeth), Chris Parker, and Ashley Cox; great-grandchildren Jordan, Olivia, Jacob, and Garrett Parker, and Jacob and Levi Rothschild; her sister Mary Sue Toon; several nieces and a nephew; and great-grand dogs Rylan and Bootsy.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to The Blake at Viera and Mederi Hospice for their care and compassion during Margo’s final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at the Presbyterian Church of the Good Shepherd on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her honor to Mederi Caretakers Hospice at 8060 Spyglass Hill Road, Viera, FL 32940 or to the Presbyterian Church of the Good Shepherd Music Fund, 810 West Florida Avenue, Melbourne, FL 32901.
