Born on July 10, 1942, in Augusta, Georgia to Frederick and Eva Miller, she was a graduate of North Augusta High School (South Carolina) in 1961.
She married her beloved James Robert Turner Sr., on June 7, 1963, in Augusta, Georgia. They raised their three children together in Augusta before moving to Florida in 1980, and returning to Evans, Georgia in later years.
After raising her children, Cecilia found new purpose as a preschool teacher, sharing her warmth and creativity with little ones. She had a deep appreciation for the beauty of life — whether she was painting, exploring the mountains of North Georgia, or simply enjoying the thrill of a road trip. She delighted in the
traditions she loved, like watching the Masters Tournament and Georgia Bulldog football games. Cecilia also treasured the time she spent with her family and friends. Above all, her life was centered on her faith and love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her brother Phillip Miller (North Augusta, South Carolina), three children — Debra Jones and son-in-law Brad (Melbourne, Florida), James Robert Turner Jr. and daughter-in-law Stephanie (Oviedo, Florida), Stephen Turner (Nashville, Tennessee). She is also survived by her grandchildren Joshua Jones, Jessica Jones, Bryson Turner, Hayden Turner, Carson Turner, and great grandchildren Tristan Jones and Serenity Ava Humpherys.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband "Jimmy" of 46 years.
A celebration of Cecilia’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 12 at University Carillon Church in Oviedo, FL.
