Robert Otto Zach

Robert Zach of Metamora passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026 in his 85th year. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Bob is survived by his three children and four son-in-laws; Annette Pratt (Bill) of Fort Myers, FL, Jeanette Simpson (Dwight) of Penn Yan, New York, Patricia Nelesen (Jerry) of Naples, Florida, Craig Bark of Macomb Twp, Mi and 9 grandchildren; Sara Pratt (Brock), Debra Piper (Erik), Colleen Kowalski (Alec), Lindsay Simpson, Dana O’Sullivan (Riley), Garrett Bark, Lauren Bark, Katelyn Nelesen, Evan Nelesen and 5 great grandchildren. His wife, Patricia Zach, daughter, Pamela Bark (Craig) and parents Otto and Mina Zach, preceded him in death.

Bob enjoyed the outdoors and spent time in the woods and on the water hunting and fishing. He was extremely proud of his Swiss heritage and he enjoyed many trips to Switzerland with his wife Pat and other family and he always had a story about Switzerland to share. Bob’s heart is at the Swiss Farms and Seven Ponds Lake in Metamora and he loved spending summers with his wife there. Golfing and cruising filled his winter months in Florida. Enjoying good conversation with family and friends was a favorite pastime. Bob took great pride in his grandchildren and great grandchildren. As a voracious reader and champion for education, he instilled the importance of higher education in all of them. One of his sayings was the importance of knowing how to “row your own boat”

A celebration of life will be held in May 2027.
