Scotti Louise Hooper, 80, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on June 22, 2026. Born September 15, 1945, in Georgia, Scotti’s life was shaped early by South Georgia roots, steady purpose, and a spirit that met each season with both clarity and grace.
Growing up in South Georgia as the second oldest of four children, Scotti attended Seventh Day Adventist School in South Georgia and later Seventh Day Adventist College in North Georgia. Those formative years helped cultivate a thoughtful steadiness and a practical wisdom that remained evident throughout her life.
Scotti built a hard-working career in the Graphic Arts industry, serving as a competitive subcontractor drafting for the military, creating equipment layouts that supported complex systems, including the F-14 weapon system and ship-related work.
Music and service were enduring threads in Scotti’s life. She sang with the Decatur Civic Chorus for 20 years and traveled over Europe to raise funds to restore churches—an adventurous undertaking that joined her love of music with a deeper sense of purpose. She also sang with Kennesaw State University KSUCAC Community and Alumni Choir for several seasons, continuing to share her voice and her presence in the community.
Scotti’s care extended into the everyday joys that make a life full: raising miniature schnauzers, cruising and traveling, and volunteering at Delmar Gardens in Smyrna every Saturday for seven years—supporting bingo, birthdays, social gatherings, and sing-alongs. In these steady acts of giving, her thoughtfulness showed itself not in grand gestures, but in faithful attention to others.
Those who knew Scotti will remember how she could find humor in every situation, sharp-witted and warmly perceptive, offering light without diminishing what was hard. She also carried a determined resilience—refusing to let life’s events slow her down, choosing again and again to get back up as quickly as possible and continue forward.
Scotti was preceded in death by brother, Gilbert Franklin Hooper; sister, Ila Sue Dutton; and niece, Heather Mendez. She is survived by her wife of 41 years, Denis Eugenia Stevens; dear friends, Nan Jester and Kay Cavanaugh; brother, Lamar Clay Hooper Jr.; aunt, Ann House; sister-in-law, Dorothy Warren; niece, Haley Driver; and nephew, Ken (Joy) Hooper.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to be made to Wellstar Community Hospital at Kennesaw Mountain.
The family would like to take a moment to thank the staff at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice for the kindness that they continued to show to Scotti and us.
