

Ray C. Williams, 73, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away on August 22, 2026. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 24, 1953, Ray was raised in Toledo, Ohio, where he excelled in football and track before graduating from Macomber High School.
A dedicated union rep for UAW Local 12 and a passionate civil rights activist, Ray spent his career fighting for fairness, engaging with community members, national political figures, and world leaders alike. He retired from Chrysler Jeep in 2003 after years of steadfast service. Beyond his career, Ray was an avid fisherman, amateur photographer, a standout bowler who earned a rings for a perfect games, and a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and LA Lakers. Above all, he was known for his sharp, sarcastic humor, mentorship, and unwavering loyalty to those he loved.
Ray is survived by his children, Jacqueline Williams-Abebe, Nicole “Nikki” Echols, Christen “Chris” Watson and Charles “Chuck” Williams; bonus daughters, Edie Prescott and Carrie Bishop; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; his beloved siblings; and his former spouses, Deborah Jean “Tracy” Hamilton-Williams and Peggie Oates.
