Weldon Henry Haevischer

Weldon Haevischer, age 90, of Bellville, Texas, passed away on September 5, 2026, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

A memorial service celebrating Weldon’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on September 11,2026 at St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville, Texas, with Pastor Jay officiating.

Weldon was born on March 3, 1936, in Welcome, Texas, to Benhart (Ben) and Elsa Klausmeyer Haevischer. From the very beginning, faith and family were an important part of his life. He was baptized on June 21, 1936, by Pastor I.M. Mansur at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was confirmed on April 2, 1950, by Pastor W. Wolf at Salem Lutheran Church in Welcome.

Prior to graduating from Brenham High School in May of 1954, he enlisted in the Army National Guard in March 1954 and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge on September 1, 1962, achieving the rank of SP5 E-5.

Weldon began his working career with Mosher Steel in Houston in 1954. He also worked for many years in the pipeline industry traveling the world. He finished up his long working life devoting many years to serving the people of Austin County through the Austin County Sheriff's Department, retiring in 1999. His work reflected the kind of man he was—dependable, hardworking, and always willing to serve others.

On October 19, 1957, Weldon and Elaine Blezinger were united in marriage at St. John's Lutheran Church in New Ulm, Texas, with Pastor Milroy Gregor officiating. Together, Weldon and Elaine built a beautiful life centered around their family, faith, and countless memories. Their nearly 69 years of marriage were a testament to their love and commitment to one another.

Weldon was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Bellville, where his faith remained an important part of his life. He was also a past Commander and longtime member of Bellville American Legion Post 115, an organization through which he continued his commitment to serving his community and fellow veterans.

More than anything, Weldon cherished his family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. His family was his greatest pride and joy, and the love he shared with them will continue through the generations.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Elaine Blezinger Haevischer; sons Bryan Haevischer and wife Becky and Jay Haevischer of New Ulm; and daughter-in-law Suzanne Sterkx Haevischer of Shelby.

He leaves behind grandchildren Delta Allen and husband Taylor, India Randermann and husband Daniel, Colby Haevischer and wife Marliana of Houston, Kal and Gina Patel of Nashville, Louie Antu and Christy of Midland, and Melissa Facundo and friend Darrin Edwards of Oklahoma.

His family continues through his many beloved great-grandchildren: Avery, Kaylee, and Macie Allen; Brooklyn and Brittyn Randermann; Genevie Haevischer; Emily, Reena, Bryhana Patel, Alyssa and Mia Antu; Michael and Rico Facundo; Bekah and husband Nick Nation; Great-Great Grandchildren Levi, Lucy, Wyatt, Parker Facundo, Devani Dean, Abram and Anaiah Nation.

Weldon is also survived by his brothers Gary Haevischer and wife Betty and Lloyd Haevischer and wife Saundra; sister Maydell Spiess; sister-in-law Dorthy Haevischer; and sisters-in-law Marlene Halamicek, Naomi Johnson, and Judy Vana.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benhart (Ben) and Elsa Haevischer; his son, Dwayne Haevischer; brother Marvin Haevischer; brothers-in-law Benjamin Spiess, Gerald Johnson and Charles Vana.

Weldon leaves behind a lifetime of love, faith, hard work, service, and memories that will be treasured by those who knew him. His family will miss his presence, his stories, his steady strength, and the special place he held in their lives.

Though he is no longer with us, the love he gave his family and the memories he created will live on in each generation that follows.

Weldon’s life was well lived, his family deeply loved, and his memory will remain in their hearts forever.
