Gregory Lee Lunaas, lovingly known as Gregg and sometimes “Wolfie” by old friends, passed away peacefully at his home in Fulshear, Texas, on July 8, 2026, at the age of 68. He was born on May 27, 1958.
Gregg was a devoted husband, loving father, proud Paw Paw, and a true friend to so many. He shared 41 wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Tola Goericke Lunaas. Together they built a life filled with love, family, friendships, and countless memories.
He is survived by his wife, Tola; his daughter, Kassandra Hart and her husband, Craig; his son, Kyle Lunaas and his wife, Brittany; and his four beautiful grandchildren, Cameron, Austin, Hudson, and Amelia, who lovingly called him Paw Paw. His grandchildren brought him tremendous joy, and he was proud of each one of them.
Gregg was a kind and generous man who was always willing to help anyone in need. He never met a stranger and had a way of making people feel welcome. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially sharing his barbecue that he prepared almost every weekend. His love for cooking brought people together and created many special memories.
Gregg had a passion for history and enjoyed visiting historical places and learning the stories behind them. He loved country music, saltwater fishing, and spending time outdoors. He also loved America and appreciated the things that made this country special to him.
Gregg dedicated 39 years of his life to ExxonMobil, where he was proud of his work in the Well Work Group, especially with high-pressure wells, and served as a Workover Supervisor. He loved his career and the people he worked alongside.
Gregg believed in giving back and serving others. He volunteered his time often and served as president and a member of the Baffin Bay Water Supply Corporation. He also served on the Riviera Independent School District School Board.
Gregg was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Edmund Lunaas, who passed away in 1987, and Thelma Eileen Lunaas, who passed away in 2022.
He is also survived by his siblings: Bradley Lunaas; Mark Lunaas and his wife, Connie; Kevin Lunaas and his wife, Melinda; and Pam Harvey and her husband, Terry; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Gregg’s legacy will live on through the love he shared, the lives he touched, and the memories he created. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, an amazing father and Paw Paw, a loyal friend, and a man with a generous heart.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Del Webb Clubhouse, 7733 Lifestyle Blvd., Fulshear, Texas 77441, from August 1st 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
