

He was born in Quincy, IL on February 15, 1944. He was the son of Zenas Leon (Stretch) Lowary and Anna Myrtle (Jewell) Lowary. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Anna Leigh (Tuttle) Lowary. Dean held several positions throughout his career and thoroughly enjoyed his last assignment as the Manager of Cost Estimating at LTV Corporation in Dallas. He was a lifelong investor which he continued to do until his passing. He was a talented rehabber of old houses and had mastered everything from plumbing and concrete work to electrical work. His most passionate project was to take an old fishing cottage at the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri and to convert it into a lovely two-story home right on the water. His wife affectionately dubbed this home as “his 19-year flip”. He loved power boats and sailboats and managed to traverse waterways in Greece and the British Virgin Islands as well as many US lakes and rivers along the way.
Surviving is his wife, Anna; three children, Deana Saleem, Fred Burris (Jennifer), Nikki Koski (Scott Hooks); four grandchildren, Cody Burris (Magen), Hanah Burris (Chewy Garcia), Sterling Saleem, Savannah Saleem; six bonus grandchildren, Ashley Whitworth (Nick), Paige Hooks (Andre Christensen), Ava Hooks, Jenna Hooks, Jolene Rine and Shelby-Ingram-Glenn; four great-grandchildren, Berkeley Burris, Bailey Burris, Baker Burris and Eliana Garcia and two bonus great-grandchildren, Tinley Whitworth and Tatum Whitworth. He is also survived by his brother L. Thomas Lowary (Judy) and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Mr. Lowary was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary W. Lowary.
There will be no services held and memorials can be made to Bryan Community Church in Bryan, Texas.
