Robert John Larsen (Bob/Bobby/Poppi) age 79 of Hudson, FL passed away peacefully on February 19, 2024. Bob was born March 16, 1944 in Brooklyn, NY to Carl and Genevieve Larsen. Bob received a BS degree from Cornell University. He worked as an Engineer and Engineering Director for Stauffer Chemical Company (later Akzo) for many years in the US and Brasil until retirement. He went on to have several other careers as the owner of two bars/restaurants in Brasil, and as a broker for medical insurance in Florida.
Bob is predeceased by his parents, his former wife and mother of his children, Lynn Ericson Larsen, and his brother Marty Larsen. He is survived by his beloved husband Juliandro (Leandro) Brito, daughter Deanna Cullen and husband Jerry, daughter Becky Larsen and partner Dan Blaha, son Eric Larsen and wife Susanne, brother Ken Larsen and wife Sylvie, and brother Cliff Larsen and wife Linda Koretsky. Bob also leaves his six grandchildren; Ashley and her husband Matt, Hunter, Benjamin, William, Kylie, and Daniel, who were the loves of his life. He often said, “My cup runneth over.” as he watched them grow and play. He also leaves the family of Juliandro; Sinvaldo and Maristela Brito, Juliana and Bruno, and Julio.
Born American but Brasilian at heart – Bob loved Brasil – it was his home for 25 years. Bob was generous, positive, and lived life to the fullest. He had a heart of gold and deeply loved his family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, playing tennis, dancing, singing, debating, martinis, and most especially traveling and partying with friends/family.
There will be a celebration of life ceremony on Saturday, March 16th, 2024 at 3pm at Alex's Place 7845 Grand Blvd, Port Richey, FL 34668. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made at St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Elton John AIDS Foundation
