Born on August 14, 1941, in Westbury, New York, Norah embarked on a remarkable life journey that bridged international espionage with deep community roots. As an operative for the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), she served her country on the front lines of global history. Her career took her to Cold War Munich, East Germany, as well as Lisbon, Vienna, the Dominican Republic, and Washington, D.C. A master of communication, she spoke fluent Spanish and German, and was conversational in Portuguese. Her sharp intellect and dedication later brought her to Miami, where she worked closely with former FBI Directors Robert Mueller and Louis Freeh.
Upon retirement, Norah brought her vibrant spirit to Gulfport, Florida. Along the western shores of Central Florida, she built a warm, active life filled with fitness, laughter, and deep connections. She treasured her neighbors at the Diplomat and cherished the time spent with her beloved tennis companions.
Her passion for life never waned. A lifelong tennis enthusiast, one of her favorite memories was attending the 2010 U.S. Open at Flushing Meadows with her sister, Marion, and nephew, Matt, where they watched the legendary Rafael Nadal win an unforgettable match under the stadium lights. Ever the thrill-seeker, Norah crossed a major item off her bucket list on her 80th birthday by skydiving.
Norah was a welcoming soul who always kept a cold Corona in the fridge, ready for anyone who stopped by to visit. She lived fully, loved deeply, and left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her loving nieces, Monica and Danielle; her nephews, Matt and Marc; and her great-niece and great-nephews, Jenna, Ryan, and Justin. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marion.
