James Michael Delmore

James Delmore, born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1941, passed away peacefully with family by his side on September 3, 2026, leaving behind a proud legacy of service, entrepreneurial ambition, and enduring love for his family.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, James served his country from April 22, 1964, to April 21, 1968. His exemplary conduct, attention to detail, and trustworthiness earned him a top-secret security clearance and the rare honor of serving President Lyndon B. Johnson at the Texas White House. He carried the discipline and pride instilled by his military service into every chapter of his life.

Following his service, James embarked on a vibrant civilian career and a lifelong journey of love. On October 21, 1971, he married Ann, his beloved partner of nearly fifty-five years. Together, they built a warm home and a fulfilling life.

A driven and successful businessman, James went on to own and operate fifteen Ponderosa Steakhouse locations. In business and in daily life, he was a tireless champion of maintaining a positive mental attitude. He believed whole-heartedly in the power of optimism, perseverance, and good humor, consistently inspiring his employees, colleagues, and family to greet every challenge with a smile and a positive attitude.

Above all his accomplishments in uniform and enterprise, James placed his family at the center of his world. He was a steady, devoted husband, a proud father, and a doting grandfather whose uplifting outlook, wisdom, and warmth will be profoundly missed.

James was preceded in death by his brother, John Delmore; his father, Lloyd Delmore; his mother, Pearl Delmore; his sister, Mary Delmore; his brother-in-law, Allan Cosgrove; his nephew, Greg Heindel; and his beloved daughter, Elizabeth Delmore.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ann Delmore; his son, Gary, and daughter-in-law, Kirsten Delmore; his two cherished granddaughters, Kayla and Emma Delmore, who brought him endless joy and pride; his sister, Kathy Wroblewski (Jerry); his sister-in-law, Jean Cosgrove; his nieces Kathy Post (Bob), Kay Delmore, Sherry Meldrum (Joe), and Cindy Beaudin; his nephews Dave Heindel (Patti) and Ted Heindel; as well as many beloved great-nieces and great-nephews.
