

Irene will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Charles Ronald “Ron” Finger; her children, Brenda, Adam, and Renee; three grandchildren, and her three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her oldest son, Charles J. Finger, in 2018.
Throughout her life, Irene found joy in helping others and giving back to her community. She was a founding member of Medford Volunteer Ambulance Inc. in Medford, New York, where she served as an EMT and AEMT. Her commitment to caring for others was a reflection of the kindness and generosity she carried throughout her life.
Irene had a deep love for gardening and the natural world. An avid gardener, she served on numerous boards and organizations related to horticulture and gardening over the years. Her curiosity about the world around her extended beyond her garden, as she proudly collected seashells, rocks, and insects.
Irene and Ron made their home in Palm Harbor, Florida, for 40 years, where she became a cherished member of the community. She volunteered at the Palm Harbor Library for an impressive 37 years, sharing her time, enthusiasm, and love of learning with generations of library patrons. In recognition of her dedication to her community, Irene was nominated for Palm Harbor Woman of the Year in 1992.
She and Ron also shared a love of adventure and travel. Together, they traveled extensively throughout the United States and around the world, creating memories and experiences that they treasured throughout their lives.
Irene was also a member of the Tarpon Springs Yacht Club, where she served twice as Commodore. She enjoyed the many events, friendships, and good times shared with fellow members there.
